New Trane Extended Warranties

Effective May 1, 2009, Standard Trane Warranty Company will introduce a series of "Labor Plus" extended warranties intended to cover registered Trane products. The "Labor Plus" extended warranties will provide labor, refrigerant, and in-warranty parts markup on all covered repairs. Any "Labor Plus" warranty that includes an EAC, ERV or humidifier will also provide 6th-10th-year parts coverage for these products. In general, these "Labor Plus" extended warranties will have lower prices and provide the same coverage and peace of mind to the original owner of registered equipment as the current "Parts and Labor" extended warranties.

Any products listed on a "Labor Plus" extended warranty application will be registered by the system if the consumer has not registered the products and provided that the extended warranty application is received within 60 days from installation.

Trane will also be introducing "10-Year Parts and Labor" and "10-Year Labor Plus" extended warranties for the XB products and "12-Year Labor Plus" on registered XL products!

Prices
The prices on existing "Parts" and "Parts and Labor" extended warranties will have to be adjusted for the changes in the limited warranty and will result in higher prices in most cases. These new prices will be effective no earlier than June 1. This extension time will give dealers and distributors time to submit any extended warranties on products installed prior to May 1st under the current price structure.

Extended Warranty Model Numbers
The new "Labor Plus" models will use the same numbers as the "Parts and Labor" models but will have an "R" in the 5th digit of the model number. For example, if the dealer purchased a TAYWAR0004 prior to May 1st, then the dealer would purchase a TAYWRR004 for the "Labor Plus" version of the coverage for registered products.
